Sunset Series

Our goal was to create a piece that was at the intersection of art and design by exploring light diffusion, simple geometric shapes, and color theory. The Califonia Light + Space Movement, and Color Theory movements informed the materials, use of color, and diffusion of light. We collaborated with Geo at Quality Neon to use vintage neon glass that has a unique glow. Through experimentation, we found that acrylic sheets diffused the bold neon glow. We were able to create light paintings mirroring the light at dusk and dawn.
