Hermandad

Hermandad means brotherhood and is a reflection of the main intention behind our studio practice. The discipline of the grid and the rhythm of handcraft become a shared language. Inspired by the meditative grid system of artists like Agnes Martin. The work embraces repetition as a meditative act, a way to return to slowness and intention in a fast-moving world. The lightbox is crafted from rich walnut and yellow amate paper, made from the bark of the jonote tree. Each piece of amate paper is handmade, showcasing unique textures and tones. With an adjustable dimmer, it transforms spaces with its warm, ambient glow.
