Dawn Chorus

Dawn Chorus is a collection of handmade lights inspired by the idea that light can bring stillness, warmth, and a sense of the sacred into daily life.

Inspired by Luis Barragán’s and Mathias Goeritz’s concept of emotional architecture intended to emphasize the sacred in art and architecture, the series embraces yellow not just as a color, but as the color of the spirit.

Each piece is handmade in West Adams, highlighting natural materials and subtle variations. The lightboxes are crafted using yellow amate paper (handmade by artisans in Puebla, Mexico and American hardwoods). The soft yellow glow creates a calming atmosphere, offering a quiet invitation to slow down.
