Santiago Serrano
Santiago Serrano (b. 1942) is a seminal figure in post-1970s Spanish painting. With more than sixty solo exhibitions internationally, Serrano is widely cited in publications on 20th-century European painting. A member of the influential generation of artists that emerged in the 1970s, Serrano’s work is known for its expressive rigor, experimental commitment, and principled nonconformism. Over the last two decades, he has expanded his practice to include numerous works on paper and print techniques, earning recognition such as the National Engraving Prize.
